Alternare has promoted sustainable activities among communities providing workshops and supporting the construction of fuel-efficient
stoves, rain-capturing cisterns, and organic farming among other things. In 2024 the team will focus on the impacts of climate change within the MBBR and promote the regeneration of ecosystems to counteract the worrying decline of monarch butterflies that overwintered in Mexico in 2023 as well as the well-being of the region's inhabitants. During this first trimester of 2024, four workshops to build rain-capturing cisterns were held with the participation of 15 women and 17 men. Four cisterns were built, benefiting 30 families.
