As part of the Monarch Joint Venture’s Monarch Conservation Webinar Series, MBF grantees, Dr. Cuauhtémoc Sáenz-Romero, and Dr. José Arnulfo Blanco García, are presenting a webinar on the impact of climate change on oyamels in the Monarch Butterfly Biosphere Reserve on November 14 at 2:00 EST. These two researchers have been conducting experiments planting oyamel firs at different altitudes and measuring their survival rates. This strategy, called assisted migration, is being proposed as an adaptive management tool to face climatic change. MBF has supported this research since 2014! Your can read more about these experiments in the Scientific Research and Monitoring section of our website. To join this webinar and see all the available webinars by MJV, you can register at the Monarch Joint Venture’s Monarch Conservation Webinar Series.
